I think you are right. Honestly, I don't think that MS should get split up. Yes, it would be great for developers because they could have access to more of the "Windows secrets", but I don't think that we should punish a company for being too successful.

I think that crashing is more of a problem when the NT machine is acting like a workstation: developing, compiling, browsing the internet, email, etc. I know a guy who runs an exchange server that says he has to reboot it frequently, but maybe he just doesn't know what he is doing. =) But then again, NT isn't very scalable.
