They asked for feedback and stated that they are already thinking about VFP 8.0. If we want anything major, such as CLR, etc., now is the time to request it.

I think it's awesome that Microsoft publicly stated they want to start a dialog regarding where the product goes in the future, but it seems to me that future would be post-version 7. Furthermore, for that dialog to be the most useful to M$ their gonna have to manage it, set goals for it, and instigate it on their terms. Plus too, for that dialog to be the most useful to the fox community, we need more information and the chance to see what .NET will do once officially released.

Personally if I was the one collecting info from the community on where my product should go, I would not want a public board where anybody and everybody can throw up everything under the sun. I would want to pull out a sampling of 25-30 of the best experts from the community with as broad a range of experience and background and sit them all down together, face-to-face, for in depth discussion think tank style. And if their isn't enough consensus in that group, then work up a public survey from their initial discussion.
