>They asked for feedback and stated that they are already thinking about VFP 8.0. If we want anything major, such as CLR, etc., now is the time to request it.

well then that makes much more sense to do possible major product changes for version 8... and if they start collecting input from the community now then they have plenty of time to make happen in version 8. I for one would be scared to death if they tried to take some of the items we hope to see them put on the table for discussion and rush job roll it into 7 at this point.

but all this is beside my original point of poking my head up on this here thread... my point was simply to state that we need to give M$ room to hold up their end of the bargain here and let them make the effort to open the discussion on their terms. M$ is the one who wants the input, they need to instigate in the manner that suits them best. If we the community instigate it before M$ is ready for it, it's not going to do us any bit of good and just leave ample opportunity for more frustration and more bent out of shape attitudes between us and them.

Plus too we've been promised a bone here... but it hasnt actually been thrown to us yet. Microsoft stated they want discussion. We need to be patient and give them plenty of room to either hold up thier promise or hang themselves by not holding it up. A wheel only spins as fast as it axle can handle. We push that wheel faster than the axle is ready for, and what do we get... a busted wheel.
