An excellent point. I'm an odd duck in that I do both, networking and VFP. Or at least it seems that way. Finger pointing solves nothing, the answer is to solve the problem and be done, and make the client happy. I've seen both sides, slow performance of a Fox app where I found not one optimizable index tag, and slow apps where the server was poorly configured. I really think it's good for any application developer to have at least some familiarity with networking, if only to have some ammo for defense when the netwrok people start the finger pointing. And to be aware of some of those hidden gotchas, like Novell's wierd changing back and forth between opportunistic locking on or off in different client revisions.
