Editable Multi-table views will be tricky for 1-M if the 1- side is editable... But then I'm not sure I can think of a UI application where that would be useful. 1-1 makes sense and works well.
Multi-table editable views also work well if the 1- side is *not* editable- for example if there is a whole set of rows for a certain category where we want client details displayed but not editable. The client table is not marked updateable and it works. Using that mechanism you can safely add rows as well though you need management code to insert the client details in the new row so it looks "right".
