In supporting a framework I've run into too much trouble with views that update multiple tables and the general rule is to stay away from them. There are situations where they will work all of the time, like the ones you've mentioned, and those are the only times you can safely use them IMO. The big thing to realize is that if you are inserting a new row into any of the tables VFP takes that as inserting a row into each table in the view that's updatable. If that'll always be the case, then a view that updates multiple tables is fine, otherwise, it'll fail when you only want to add a row to one table.
