I've had a very similar experience with Win2000, but it isn't limited to VFP. It happens in all of the office apps and IE as well. But it is related to the menu system, rather than combobox. The menu popups fail to appear, but if the user moves the mouse, the text of the popups becomes visible, even though the popup remains invisible.

The only way I've been able to resolve this problem is by rebooting. After a reboot, it goes away for days. Despite the claims that WIN2000 is more stable, I've rebooted my Win2000 machine 5x more times than I ever did my NT4.0 box.

>This works fine in Windows 95, 98 and NT 4.0. However, on Windows 2000 Professional, the combobox and/or oleboundcontrol disappear from the form. Even though the combobox is not visible, the user is still able to click on the area containing the combobox and display/select from the items in the combo. The full combo isn't visible at that point, just the list of items contained in the combo.

>This all seems fairly random, but it happens on every Windows 2000 PC we've tried it on [four of our PCs and one of our client's PCs].
