Well, I do it both because I enjoy it, and because it's what my clients need. To be honest, I prefer web dev over LAN stuff.

Now this one, I disagree with. Web Dev is definitely 'ready for primetime'. Just look around you. There are many, many, many large business using it in prime time. It's ready.

It's not a bandwagon. Its a real paradigm that serves real needs. I was only pointing out that it's not the de facto standard for every need.
