Basically I replied because the more I look at this place, the more I find complete arrogance on the part of the main posters. It seems that many people have a very narrow minded viewpoint, where they are right & everyone else is wrong. Just because you personally would find it difficult to program in a particular style does not mean that anyone else would. Other people may wonder at your inability to cope with such trivial matters as you raised. Just because you may have some degree of experience, does not mean that your approach is the only way.

The place is difficult to navigate & any newcomers are regularly abused for asking the wrong question. Just because someone is new to VfP & has difficulties with finding which functions to use does not mean that they have no experience of programming.

Throughout this thread I have met the attitude that I am most definitely wrong, that what was required was always dangerous, except for .... Which was all I said in the first place, sometimes it may be the best way to go about things.

I had the opinion that you were one of te more open-minded of the main people here, but I see that you have the same attitude of the small clique.
