>I see a lot of others complaining about the election trying to be stolen or hijacked by the Gore camp. My only comment is that in dispute are 23,000+ votes in 1 county where the overall state voting differences were about 1,000 votes. I just want to see the guy who deserves it to win -- whether it be Gore or Bush. It will make governing so much easier.
Personal Responsibility is the key to this. There are no longer literacy tests, poll taxes, etc., so anyone can vote. However, there are no
stupidity clauses to fall back on just because someone thinks they may have punched the wrong hole or double punched a ballot. I have no sympathy for some one who is too embarassed to ask a polling attendant about the ballot especially how it is to be marked.
Also, from what I heard, 19,000 of those votes were invalidated because of double-voting. Under any State's law, such ballots are automatically rejected with no recourse. Those 19K are SOL and rightly should be. I have ZERO sympathy for anyone who marks their ballot twice for the same office. Besides, you can always get another ballot if you mess up. Anyone that stupid is just showing how uninformed about the process they are, and it is no one's fault but their own. Again, it's a Personal Responsibility thang.
