JCF,
>There's still the absentee ballots. I have heard numbers ranging from 3,000 to 7,000 on the networks, so I think it's still up for grabs.
>I don't want to start a long discussion, but a new election on the contested counties seems like a bad idea.
I don't think there will be enough Bush absentee ballots coming in from overseas to override the manual recount of heavily Democratic counties, which is guaranteed to add several thousand votes for Gore.
I can't believe the dishonesty of the Gore position that they simply want to accurately count ALL of the Florida votes, and that they simply want to "get it right". If they want to get it right, they would be calling for a statewide hand recount with identical standards in all counties. But, their skill in spinning will probably convince most Americans that when the 4 counties are done, that we then have the most accurate count possible for Florida. What a lie!
