Kevin,

I have seen the INVALID SEEK OFFSET when I was having some of the well known problems with the Novell client. Maybe during the setup of the other VFP app, there was some pause in the processing that caused the problem. I assume the setup would check for runtime files and attempt to update them.

If someone was installing a progam on a machine actively running something, I think you can expect problems. Isn't that why they have those warnings about exiting other programs? Especially if the setup was attempting to update some of the very files your program may have been using.

>Thanks for responding. In the past, I've been able to eliminate INVALID SEEK OFFSET by reindexing or rebuilding the tables. However, in this case, when the app was shut down and then brought back up (Thursday morning), it's been running fine ever since, without any type of reindexing.
