I always have used concatenated fields as Pk's to my vfp tables. I have made the question because until these days I have used only 2 or 3 fields concatenated and have not any problemns. I ask because in some tables I have designed I need to use 5 or 6 fields to properly configure the pk.

Also, on softwares that I developed, I don't allow the user to modify fields used in PK's, couse the PK'S components fields are choiced in a way that it really don't need to do that.

Thanks for you and for Craig. As you have properly said, the Craig's approach have places and situations for use it. But I prefer to not generate pk's, and choice it from one or more fields from properly normalized databases.

Thanks again.
