>In VFP 6.0, is there a way to "freeze" a grid column's order without having to play around with the "partition" property and splitting the grid? I want to freeze the first few columns so I don't lose track of which record I am viewing while scrolling horizontally. I found an article at FoxProAdvisor.com by Dan LeClair from April 97 but it is only viewable in the printed edition (which, of course, I don't have).

I have tried that in the past and so far have not found a clean way of doing it. I also followed the article you mention, but it was not very pretty either. Maybe someone out there has found a way cleanly to do this.
