Hi fellow foxers,
We've been using phdbase for some rather specific searches, and ran into what seems to be a phdbase limitation I'm hoping somebody else can confirm, deny, or help us work around.
As far as I can tell at this point, phdbase will allow a maximum of 255 characters in it's query string. This includes all search terms, and any select statement, formatting specifications, or anything else that's combined betweein '=phd("' and '")'. I'm assuming this means that there's something built into the library file that uses aliasing of some sort to pass the string around, but I really don't know.
I can't find anything in the documentation that mentions this 255 character limit, even when searching on the phdhelp table indexed with phdbase.
Any thoughts on how to get past a 255 character limit would be greatly appreciated. I'd even appreciate if some other developers could tell me that they've come up against the same limit.
TIA,
Jim Erwin
