My experience has been that the where clause is limited to 255 characters. If you include other parts of a SQL statement in your phd expression, it seems to handle more than 255 characters. IOW, the limitation of 255 isn't what's between the "", but the length of the phd or fox expression in the where clause. This comes from experience rather than any documentation.
