>I guess you feel that the Fl. Sup. Ct. was impartial when they extended the recount deadline. Well, be that as it may....

I am completely comfortable with the US Supreme Court deciding this. Not George W., not Al Gore, not James Baker, and not Jesse Jackson. If the court rules in favor of the Florida Supreme court, will I see you back here questioning the legitimacy of that decision? I won't, and I won't question the decision if they rule in favor of Bush.

Anyone else in this thread care to commit to that?

>Bottom line is, even with this extended deadline, Al Gore still lost. Now Gore wants to "cherry pick" specific districts in specific counties to do recount. Is that fair, more inportant is that legal?

Al Gore has offered to manually recount all the votes in Florida. Bush did not take him up on it. The Florida Supreme court asked if Bush wanted it. Bush's team said no (this was mentioned in the Florida court's opinion). I doubt Al Gore's sincerity, but he did make the offer:

Now, is it fair to blame Al Gore for George W. not taking him up on his offer?
