>Just a word of advise that you can choose to take or leave. The irritated tone of your messages is very grating. Insultiong the very people who can be of help to you will prove to be very counterproductive to you in the future. It is very easy to see the name on a question and ignore it and pass on to something else.

"Just a word of advise" Jim, you _advise_ someone when you give them *advice*...

>If you really want to get more value out of the UT I would suggest that you temper your frustration and post clear and concise questions that others will gladly respond to and provide you additional information to get YOUR job done. Being generally nasty with inuendos and insults will not win friends or influence people and the best value here in the UT is the people who are here. We are all in the same trench that you are, only some of us havwe been here longer and know the ropes a little better.

Jim, can you tell me what Ed was talking about? I didn't think so. As for my irritating tone, the innuendos that I "woke up on the wrong side of the bed", *do* irritate me. I presented, in very readable and concise terms, a suspected bug using what appears to be valid and correct SQL SELECT syntax. I get back 1) a completely un-decipherable message from Ed Pikman and 2) an insulting message from Matt McDonnell suggesting that I don't know how to construct an SQL statement and that a method is a text file - incorrect, BTW, a method is a window into a memo field, as we ALL know.

I do come off too strongly sometimes, I know this, I guess it comes from working the Internet newsgroups too much. I will endeavor to temper my messages in the future. But I will never let replies such as Ed's pass without comment; if he's going to post a reply, he should ensure it is logical and readable. If he cannot, he should seriously look into English composition courses.

Now, do you have any insight into this (supposed) bug?
