>>I'm trying to understand how writing the Bible could help understand the universe. As for historical accuracy, there are many instances where the noted archeologists and historians said the bible was just a storybook. Then someone unearths something like the Dead Sea scrolls. There's just too much evidence that supports the Bible as a divine document.

I've only seen one version of creation. Maybe you have a different version of Genesis. I think it probably is due to different authors writing about the same event.

>Also (I know, I said one), do you think God wrote the Psalms? If so, wouldn't that be pretty tacky - to write all these hymns of praise to oneself? If not, then are you saying that God wrote the rest, but allowed this one section written by man to be part of the document?

I believe it is the inspired word of God, not that he actually wrote it. I don't know of anyone who says they think God actually wrote the book. The books of the Bible intertwine with amazing precision, even though it was written over a very long time and by many authors.
