IMO, for a Fox developer, VB is the place to start. C# has received a lot of hype. Folks all say it is "neat". It may be. I'll wait and see on that. FWIW, the whole .Net environment is very different. VFP'ers looking for an OO model like VFP are going to be disappointed. All developers will have to deal with the learning curve - regardless of whether you are a VB or VFP developer.

>John, this is only slightly related to your comment, but I'd like to take the opportunity to ask your opinion - I've managed to put off teaching myself VB to this point - I don't think I'd find it too difficult but I don't use it much on a day to day basis. However, I figure VB7 would be a good time to do it since it is, as you say, a brand new product. I also want to take up C#. I figure you've had a chance to look at and consider both VB7 and C# - which do you think is worth picking up first to get a running start with the VS.Net technologies?
