Are you asking for opinions on why would people want to write a book on the VFP cert or take VFP exams?
>

No.. If I wanted to know that, I would ask that question...< s >

>Since your response concedes the "revenue" argument (right?), let's talk about the current exams. Jim Booth has already calculated around three more years for the current cert. I wasn't giving it more than two but he's got good logic on that figure.
>

My response to you concedes nothing. FWIW, you did not propose an argument. Rather, you stated what is better classified as a statement of fact. When there is no controversy, there is no argument. Therefore, there is nothing to concede...< s >

>So I think it's still worth the effort for people to try and get certified with the VFP exams. Even more if in fact it is not included on the next track, because that will give it at least 1-2 more years to expire. That happened with the VFP3 certification, if I'm not mistaken.

Again, there is no such thing as product-specific certification. And further, I am not advocating that people abandon their certification efforts. Rather, I advocate folks looking at .Net and evaluating the issues..
