It still does it with these settings.
The effect is peculiar. It as if I have a valid condition returning false on the combo.
I can click into other fields in the grid just fine, but as soon as I click anywhere in the unit column (which contains the combo) I suddenly get bounced down to the last record in the grid, and a no value appears in the combo (even if it had one before). I can now not leave the combo unless I click on a different column. Clicking elsewhere in the same column flashes me there for a sec then bangs me right back down to the last record again.
Right now I can duplicate it all the time but it was sporadic up till recently.
I think I forgot to mention that it was a child grid, which might have some bearing on the problem.
