IMO, Chuck deserves better than this. You don't answer his question at all and you are basically telling him to stop pursuing this idea (you could at least say that you are repeating a generally accepted GUI guideline). I agree that users should have control over the colors used in the application but I don't agree they necessarily have to be colors used in the Control Panel. My framework provides a facility that allows the user to customize colors on the value of several control properties (ReadOnly, Disabled, and a custom property); the user can select his own colors or use the O/S colors. I think this is much better than forcing the Control Panel colors onto the user but you may not agree with me... I don't know if Chuck is trying to implement such a facility and I don't care; he deserves a real answer, not something to put him down.
