>I pulled over the foxhelp.dbf from fpd2.6 and it has Topic C30, Details Memo, and Class C20 (ie General, Function,Etc) I used to know what they meant. The Help narrative there is (however) not applicable to VFP6. It seems to me that The Flash people (CodeBook) had a working example that I started with. Topics are nice, but I really need the ability to open an index to Help from the main App Menu. and then train the users to use that. Also, it's more straightforward to implement and update. I sense that MS is giving conflicting signals on this Help issue (changing something that works and messing it up).
If you just have SET HELP TO yourhelp.dbf and no topic set, just issuing HELP gives you the list of your topics. Is that what you want?
We're still using the .DBF style help, but we are switching to the .CHM format soon, as the .DBF style help looks "dated". There also some issues with the help missing scrollbars, etc. I don't remember what else, but there were "other problems".
