Good point, thanks. Both my NT 4.0 server and NT 4.0 wkst have Norton's AntiVirus and Norton's Utilities installed, although not the 2001 versions. My Win 98 does not have any Norton's software installed and neither does my new Win 2000 Professional yet.

But then again I don't believe that the pcs here at the client site have that installed but I'll check.

I believe we'll find something that's effecting VFP 6 more than VFP 5, rather than it being VFP 6 itself. The timming difference (3.xx vs 18.xx) is just too extreme. I plan to make more test this weekend. May even try my laptop which has VFP 3 and VFP 6 - and Norton's. But like most everybody else I'm up to my eyelids. I've three VFP projects and two ColdFusion web projects that I planned to work on this weekend. Have a nice day,
