>Excuse me while I put on my weightlifting belt so that I may remove the chip from your shoulder....< bg >...

Now, John, I wouldn't call it a chip- I would call it a healthy love for our rivalry in debate. :-)

>With respect to your first question, I will ask you a question in response. How many times do you refer people to the MSDN site? That should answer your question.

How many times do I refer somebody to a helpful website, a book, or to the downloads section to get a tool that will help them? Does this mean that MVPs should have to have built a support website or have authored a popular and useful tool, or have written a book? That's why I say arbitrary- there are lots of ways to contribute... why pick one of them as a key requirement?

>If you are of the Aggie persuasion, I will tart it up for you.

Of all the insulting things I have heard you say over the years, this insinuation one is by far the most offensive. I am _not_ an aggie.

:-)

>Also, we can probably count on one hand the number of VFP MVPs who have authored whitepapers for MSDN, are you saying that all others are not qualified?
>
>Of course not - based on the current qualifications. I am of the opinion that the qualifications should be changed. The measure of ones qualfications can only be determined by how they stack up against the requirements. Right now, a whitepaper is not required.

Ok, I should have said "are you saying that all others should not be qualified"?

> Therefore, why would you conclude that I - one who is pretty logically minded... (snip) ...that would not make sense. And therefore, would not be something proposed by me....

Man, if there was a book of JVP quotes, these could be on the cover. :-)

>BTW, this message was created in the land where the 2000 National Championship award resides - OKC.

Does that mean you're hanging out in OKC? Condolences.

>Yes longhorns - you still suck!!

I'm not a Longhorn, but I am a Longhorn fan by coercion. During football season, my wife makes me watch football instead of working on my hotrod.
