I agree with Jeff, the rates seem low to me also.
I get $75 - $125 an hour for contract work, and signifiantly more than the rate quoted (+ Benefits & Paid Devcon's) for 35 Hr/Wk Corporate job (where I am currently) This leaves plenty of time for some moonlighting for the bigger $$. I know they get even more in the big cities, and for multiple specialties! I see starting salaries in this range in the local want ads all the time (Usually C++ or VB/SQL)
