Jen,

I had missed the "tongue in cheek" aspect of it until I read the very next message - AFTER I had sent mine, of course.

Marc kind of put it in context, but it was too late!

Oh well, no real harm done.

Cheers,
Jim N

>>In other words, if JUSTIFIED criticism will 'turn someone (important) at MS off', then they ought to get out of the business.

>>On the other side of the coin, if I have to worry about its reception when I offer JUSTIFIED criticism, then the listener is not the person who I actually need to be doing the listening.

>>JUSTIFIED criticism should ALWAYS be welcomed - how else does one learn about one's "problems" if not from being told about them?
>>Today there is over-much worry about HOW something is said rather than WHAT is said. It is called "Politically Correct". The sooner we dump that concept the sooner we will all be better off!

>I agree entirely. I was being slightly tongue-in-cheek. Even so I sometimes wonder whether M$ is receptive to constructive criticism. But don't forget, I come from a Mac background (though I used DOS for years before the Mac was born) and as such tend to have rather a poor view of the Borg/ Engulf & Devour, Inc. or whatever we're calling them today
