The whole reason I wound up in Ga was just this. I was raised in the metro D.C. area (Arlington Va). My dad worked 38 years for the G.A.O. When he retired in 1969, I was 14, we could not afford to live in that area on his pay so we moved to Ga. My mom was born and raised in the community we now live in.

Really... that is interesting. I guess from this part of the country that would seem like a radical choice. Although Ga has an exploding Mexican population I bet the average person in Ga about to retire would not list Mexico as a destination.

A realy funny thing happend to me when I first moved here. I was just entering HIgh School and fellow asked me where I was from. I told him Virginia. He called me a yankee. I answered... not really Virginia held the capital of the confederacy. He got mad and jumped up and yelled... you stupid yankee everyone knows that Atlanta was the capital of the confederacy. Of course I quicly learned that most folks in this town think that anyone that lives north of this county is a yankee. < vbg >
