The objref utility found no dangling objects. This is a cool utility I will use again. I also made sure that all cursors were closed before I tried to release the form. I wasn't updating or buffering in this form, so there were no open transactions. The fact that the grid has the focus seems to be the problem. I added code to put the focus back on a command button each time the form is activated, and the C5 went away. I can make it come back by clicking in the grid, then closing the app from the menu. I guess I just won't do that. If you have any other ideas, let me know. Thanks again, Deri
