Hi Doug and Walter,

Thanks for the replies.

I've been changing some settings and it's getting better.

There's a "Set Location" dialog box under Database menu which seems to work if I put in the full path of the file being used.

I did edit the path for the stored reports so they go in the folder where my data is, on the server.

The benefits of the option for saving the data with the report seems to be that you don't have to access the "set Location" dialog each time you load the report.

I'm still not clear on the ODBC settings, I've never worked with them so I don't know what to look for although CR is acting better since I made some of the setting changes in the program.

My next step will be to create a report and add it to my application so users can just click a button and the report previews just like the native report writer.

Any advice on what's needed to accomplish that would be great.
