But at the time, the client was considering having his app integrate with VersaPro Accounting and/or QuickBooks. VersaPro Accounting is by Zland software and is written in VFP, but you don't get source code. But we could read and write to the dbf files without a problem. Quickbooks is what he is using now and I'm not sure how to integrate a VFP app with it, but I did see a long thread a while ago about that topic.

Thanks Cathy,
I've been looking at IAS, since I need to write some stuff to go along with it. It has a framework that comes with it. So, why not that one?

On another note, I've a friend who has the funding (7 digits) put together to write an accounting package. However, he has put it on hold due to the nightmare of putting together a team and getting out a product in 6 months (the deadline for the funding). I'm a little pissed (come on, how often do you get funding for a project like this anyway?). I'm trying to talk him into doing it in FoxPro and using VFE. He already has a lot on his plate though...

Note 3: So, how do you go about putting together a users group? We need one here in Hawaii, but I've been slow to move, having no experiance in such things

Thanks.

Daniel
