It is possible for multi users to check out classes, etc to work on them and scctext.prg was an essential part of this. However, its been awhile since I was in a multi developer enviroment so I don't recall what hoops you have to jump through to accomplish this. I do remember it wasn't a painless process however, but mostly it worked.

even after reading the archives. It appers that binary files (like vcx, vct, scx, sct, etc) cannot be checked out by multiple users at the same time. But there is also a program (scctext.prg) that supposedly converts libs/screens/etc to text files and back. This would suggest that a merge procedure could be performed on this type of files as well. But if only ont user can check out a file at a time, what's the need for scctext.prg?
