Hi Mark,

Thanks. I followed your advice and have downloaded PO8.

In the other forum, you referred to a couple of books by Urman. Will these give me enough of an overview to get started? I mean, I know NOTHING! I've done some ODBC remote views before, but I'm starting to read about Oracle and I'm getting a little freaked out. It's a whole 'nother world! I was just kind of hoping to be able to read a few tables, and then write to the relevant tables, no big deal. But it looks like I'm being naive.

I haven't yet spoken to their technical folks yet about the details, but I want to have that conversation after having played around with PO8 and doing a little proof of concept for myself and for them. So I need a book that can at least get me to the point of talking the talk. I'm not going to go in there pretending to know what I clearly don't, but I have to give them confidence that I'll be able to read and write the relevant data.

Thanks again

>See my reply to your other thread. Next, get Personal Oracle for your own computer. PO8 works on desktop or laptop PCs and is invaluable for development work without the expense of a true Oracle server.
>Plus, the databse you develop in PO is fully exportable for importing into the production Oracle database.
