Hmmm, I believe the technical term for your situation is would be -- hosed? < bg > Is there any hope of then upgrading to a real DB?
>I thought of that and tried it, but it gave me some sort of error, perhaps due to Access needing a password for the data. I couldn't find a way to code it in the way we can in VFP. I gues "great minds think alike." ;-)

>>Yuck! I am not sure if this would work or if you could even updata data this way, but you could create a linked view in MS Access, then create a RV in VFP to the MS Access view. Blasphemy! < g >

>>>Tried the MS Oracle drivers. It says I have no "client software." Downloading Personal Oralce for the heck of it. Good thing I have a high-speed line and a big hard drive. ;-) I don't think using MS drivers will get me anywhere. It's like hoping they speak Portugese in Spain because they're both in Iberia.

>>>In any case, the syntax I'm using to test is "SELECT * FROM Locations" where Locations is a nice little 20 record file. I've also used "SELECT Location, Title, Active_flag FROM Locations" with similar bad luck. Definitely not complicated syntax!
