>Basically, I think every links outside of the threading environment should be link as is.

Heh! I had a hunch this would get nowhere... the day I can convince you of something I'll buy a lotto ticket. I'm sure I'll hit the jackpot. (Don't worry, you'll get half of it!) ;-)

>This is what it is when you surf the net.

Not necessarily. This is the only web site where some links open a window and some don't. Every other site I can remember shows just ONE behavior throughout, consistently. Until I had this dialogue with you, I didn't even know that a "rule" existed on this ("links on main page open in same browser, links elsewhere open a new browser").

There is no rule on this. Basically it boils down to whether you want to keep the user IN your site or you don't mind him or her wandering away.

>I wouldn't like to have an opened window to fire up whenever a click on a link.

With the exception of the links and banners on the main page, I think that's the default behavior all over the UT.

>If I want that up, I right click and select open in a new window.

Yep, I'll just have to do that ALWAYS because there's no way to tell which links open a new window and which don't.

>The difference in the threading environment is necessary because we don't want to loose our session.

What makes you think that even though I'm at the main page and haven't logged in yet, I want to loose the UT from my screen? If I want news, I open cnet or cnn directly. If opened the UT page it's because THAT is what I want. I don't mind seeing a few headlines on the main screen, and I'll even click on one or two every once in a while, but you have to understand that my intent is to use the UT, not to read news.
