Duh, forgot that one. The error message is:
OLE error code 0x800a1f45: Unknown OLE Status Code

Yes, I recompiled, cleaned the project....
Yes, the form opens without any problems both for editing and while running the application.

I eventually went back and deleted all of VFP 5 after running into problems after upgrading. This seemed to resolve *those* problems (which also involved ActiveX components).

I have gone through the archives but will do so again. I see lots of similar problems but no solutions that I have not already tried.
