Matt,
Thanx for the suggestions. You've given me some additional ideas to try here. I will also discuss the approach with some of the fellows at the client site who have become more experienced with FPW and see what they think would be the most help.
I sometimes think that most people who design apps in VFP are working in environments where the client is expected to never touch the data except when using the app. I have a couple of situations like that, but I also work a great deal in this hands-on-the-data environment.

>>>IMHO, you should encourage the users to learn how to use VFP. The best way would be to have them get used to the VFP environment while using one or two menus that you write which are nothing more than glorified macros. It would be kind of like a 'Switch Kit'. Create menus with commands/Text similar in appearance to 2.6 and have the users get used to VFP that way.
>>>
>>>Does that make sense? If it doesn't I'd be happy to elaborate.

>>Could you elaborate, please. Are you suggesting that the 'Switch Kit' menus place the text of the command on the screen, or am I missing something?

>>I agree completely that the ultimate goal is to get the users comfortable with VFP since this is the environment in which they need to work.

>Well...that's one way. You could also briefly describe how it's done in VFP with a messagebox.

>You could also go ahead and create a set of macros which call the VFP equivalent menu selections based on a 'FPW' like menu.

>In the long run, you could make this very elaborate, but at that point, the client may be better off sending them to training. Just keep it as simple as possible.
>
>You might also consider writing a small 'help desk' utility which could be called from a menu bar in VFP and would allow them to log a question which you could review later or maybe put in a small commuications package as well so they could email you the question immediately.

>Whatever you decide, they will need some level of training, either from you spending a couple days with them or sending them to an intro to VFP class.
