I'm not aware of any problems that are caused in VFP by installing SP4. OTOH, installing it adds the features that were incorporated in SP3 (the Session class, for example), and solves some problems with things like HP printers. Unless, someone else here has any reasons why you shouldn't that I'm unaware of, I'd say "Go for it". I haven't had any problems (and it might solve the problem you're now having).
