Hey Juan,

SQL = SQL Server?

It really depends on what you're trying to do and the environment. SQL Server is a lot better to work with for homogenous Windows environments because it scales up and down really well in that environment. It's also less expensive to DB2. And, I believe, it benchmarks as faster than DB2.

OTOH, DB2 runs on a much, much larger number of operating systems. I know of one location where they have a DB2 database that replicates in and out of OS/390, AS/400, and NT fairly seamlessly (requires expensive IBM add-ons, though).

>We are working in a new project. My idea always has been to use SQL but a guy is trying to sell the idea to my boss that DB2 is better. Some comments? Wellcome
