Bennett,

>However, I still had to use a Report variable ("nAsubt") to sum the nAmount field and then use the TRANSFORM() function for the expression in the control. The Report Expression dialog box is very confusing to me because it has both an expression entry box and a format entry box. I found NO way to sum the nAmount field and format it also.

I assume you mean that you found no way to sum and format in one statement? I'm sure the expression and format fields are separate to allow more granular control such as rounding and truncating. Other report writers such as MS Access also separate calculation and formatting functions.

>Also in my original message I tried to maek two colums of numbers for my example, but when I sent it, they all ran together. Another Frustration.

You need to use a little bit of HTML to format your post. Use < pre > and < /pre > (wihout spaces) to indicate that the text is preformatted. Like this:
   for this is printed
12.76 $12.67000000000 ( I'm not sure about the # of zeros, but it's way too many)
  2.49 $2.49000000000
333.09 $333.09000000000
>I still don't like the VFP report writer.

You definitely sound frustrated. The VFP report writer has met all my needs, once I've used a few tricks. I expect that I would have to go through a similar learning curve if I moved to Crystal Reports.

>Where is Tehuacan?
>Sounds like Mexico, but you have a US flag next to your name.
>How do I get a US Flag?

Did you notice that the flag that goes with your name is to the right of your name, and that his Mexican flag was probably to the immediate left of your name as you typed your reply?
