>My client had a corrupted free table on her network drive. I browsed the table in VFP and at the bottom were about 50 records with all '|' in the fields. I copied the dbf, fpt, and cdx onto my C drive. When I browsed the table on my C drive the corrupted records were gone. Any thoughts about why copying the table and its' cdx, fpt would fix the corruption.

Well, just a guess, but could it be a bad cluster? Could you run some disk utility like DeFrag? We had the similar problem recently and I suggested to run defrag. It seems to fix the problem.
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
