This is a question along these same lines. Yesterday, I received a call from someone who is running a 5.0 app and receiving "To many files open" error message. I didn't write the app so it's hard to say what is going on. The app is being run on a Pentium connected to a Novell network. This thread has given me some ideas, but other than that, I've never experienced this error with W95.
I thought that was a thing of the past and that VFP could handle any number of files being open. If there's a limit, what is it?
