I'd suggest using a notebook - as long as you can get all the features you want/need. In my case I use two monitors and find it very helpful with debugging issues. In my case I'd see if I could put a dual/multi monitor card in the docking station.

I've been wrestling with that question for a long time myself (i.e. desktop vs. notebook). I do not really need a notebook, so I never owned one. I am in the market for a new computer as a companion to my existing desktop at home (and replacing my obsolete server).

Why do you suggest a notebook? I always nixed the idea as I always found the notebook+docking station more expensive than a comparable desktop, plus it is harder and more expensive, if at all possible, to expand later. I'm open to new ideas, considering that again I do not *need* a notebook/laptop but it would be nice to take on trips and to DevCons.
