I have built a table with one general field. The table has 710 records so far and each general field is linked (not embedded) to one-page MS Word document. The aggregate size of 710 Word documents is about 20MB, but the FPT file of my table is just about double that, namely 40MB. As I am planning to add a couple of hundred records every month, I am worried about the size of this FPT file. I packed the table, but the FPT file size remains the same. I understand that the general field holds only a reference to the linked object. Why is the FTP file so big?
