Hi John,

I took that course a few years ago when we were starting a 2.5 to VFP migration. While you get some good information and some usefull tools the general consensus is that you will end up re-engineering the system.

Try an experiment. Take all the .PRG's, .FRX/FRT's, generated .SPR's, and generated .MPR's from your FPD system, copy them to another directory, and compile then in VFP (don't copy the .SCX's or any other designer file other than reports) or create a new VFP project for them and build to an APP. Then run it (this is much harder if you have any Libs). That would be your starting point with MEI's course.

We couldn't use this because we invented so many 'non-fox-like' things in our FPD app that it looked like !#@$ in VFP.

Bottom line (my opinion): the course will give you a very good idea of what you're up against in the conversion but you will end up re-designing most if not all of your UI code.

HTH,
Roger
