This may be oversimplified, But I just did one of these type of apps, One table, pictures and some data.

My problem was similar where the user liked excell, who was working with the data, so I had to start from that point. and a daily update would work fine.
I used the vfp html wizard, and created a very nice, three frame page, it generated for me four html pages. Took about 1 hour total. from start to finish.

1 frameset,
2 top frame,
3 left - point and click frame
4 right - frame with the data.

and the data is stored in a CSV File, whenever the user changes the data in a simple to use CVS file, the web site is updated.

if you want to see it, (I know the images are not there yet) I am waiting for the scans to be done.

http://www.wginc.org/wg/closeout/closeout.htm but this is the page that I speak of.

Actually the data does not need to be on the web server itself, but needs to be on a machine with a web server program installed and running. The forms could be on your comercial site, and the data on someone machine. running pws (free) or apache.

two points,
1 this site only works with ie becuase of the active x scritping. and two, I also love php,/ mysql. if you have a knack for linux, and want to do some really fun stuff. there is nothing better. this little solution was a - gots to have it today working kind of thing, so its was quick.

>I have a need to display data from my access database on my web site. It is a simple display were everone will be listed as a hyperlink on one page, and when you click on that person you will see detail just on that person. Not a difficult application. I just do not know which tools are available. I have a very bare bones web host and do not want to upgrade. I know that there are programs that will create static web pages from the database and while the data is not very active and the volumne is not so great, i would like something that reads the datbase and creates the web page on the fly.

In the beginning, there was a command prompt, and all was well.
