Yeah, I ended up buying 3 computers in 2000 - one for the 14-year-old for his birthday, one for the 18-year-old to take to college (he wanted a desktop, not a laptop), and one new one for me for a test machine. What _was_ cool was that the two machines for the kids cost the same or less than the one they'd been sharing that we bought the 18-year-old for his Bar Mitzvah in '95. Even got a printer thrown in with one of them that the kid took to college.
