Hi Jim,

This particular one is very quiet - it doesn't beep at all :)

At home I sometimes turn speakers off and I believe, it doesn't sound then.

Anyway, it's probably rare situation, when computer doesn't have a sound card and speakers, so Will's solution will (:)) be fine in 99% cases.
