Help with Vermont HighTest recognising VFP UI controls
I have recently purchased Vermont HighTest (automated windows testing software from Vermont Creative Software) which "can record the physical data associated with a window and/or each of the following window controls: menus, buttons, static controls (such as labels)" etc ...
When running HighTest against applications written in Delphi or VB it is able to target individual text boxes, buttons etc giving details of the state of each (current text value etc.). However, when running HighTest against a VFP 5.0 application I got no details beyond the form itself.
A bit of reading seems to suggest that the problem is because VFP UI objects (commandbutton, textbox etc) are not based on Windows controls (? does this make sense) whereas the corresponding UI objects in Delphi, VB etc are subclassed from native windows controls.
So my questions are ...
1. Can somebody give me a quick explanation of the VFP UI objects/classes and how (if?) they relate to the native windows classes?
2. If anybody out there has experience with Vermont HighTest targetting VFP 5.0 applications can you tell me if/how HighTest can be configured to recognise VFP UI objects/classes?
Any help/tips will be greatly appreciated.
TIA
Craig
